An Apology to the Next Generation
What the Church Failed to Teach About Family
I want to start with an apology…
“I want to start with an apology. I’m not here to blame Gen Z or Millennials for delayed marriage, falling birth rates, or uncertainty about adulthood. I’m here to apologize on behalf of the Church—for what we failed to teach you.
“For decades, young adults were left to navigate life without a clear understanding of family, fertility, and legacy. Our clergy stayed silent, and that silence created confusion, not freedom. It caused people to embrace unhealthy ideas of the culture rather than what God wanted to give them.
“The Bible opens on the very first page with a command to create the family and closes with the family of God saying; Amen. Family is at the center of God’s design. God does not have a womb, and yet He chose to enter history through a woman’s consent. That tells us something profound: life, the body, and the family are sacred, and human cooperation matters deeply in God’s plan.
“Even in Genesis, after Adam and Eve sinned, their first instinct was to cover their reproductive organs to protect themselves from God. Scripture shows that shame entered at the point of human fruitfulness. In much the same way, couples cover their reproductive organs to protect themselves from God’s design to bring life. Modern culture and even the Church have often kept these truths hidden, leaving young people to make decisions without the guidance Scripture intended."
“This book, Birthing God’s Mighty Warriors, isn’t about condemnation. It’s about care, clarity, and reconciliation. It’s about giving Gen Z the information and wisdom they were never taught, so they can make choices from understanding, not absence or silence. My hope is that this conversation can help young adults reclaim the beauty, purpose, and generational power of family as God designed it and find their true happiness in building a family.”
